OPARANYA PLANS AND PLOTS TO FINISH WANGAs

In the heart of Kakamega County, a longstanding bond between the Abamarama and Abawanga communities is being tested as political maneuvers threaten to fracture the once-unified front.

For years, the Abawanga have stood steadfastly behind their Abamarama counterparts, offering unwavering support in matters of elective leadership. From ministerial positions to gubernatorial roles, the Abawanga have lent their allegiance, ensuring their neighbors' ascendancy to power.

However, recent events have unveiled a stark betrayal brewing within this alliance. Governor Oparanya has begun to orchestrate a calculated campaign to dismantle their longstanding partnership. The Abawanga have been submissive and supportive of the Abamarama, to an extent; under Anangwe's leadership, the administration offices were relocated to Butere, a less developed area compared to Mumias town, dubbed Butere-Mumias. In fact, Governor Barasa is advocating for its municipality status.

The Abawanga have supported Oparanya unconditionally for the last 10 years as governor, never allowing any of their sons to vie against him; it was considered sacrilegious. They offered him necessary support not because they were inferior, but because of good neighborly relations.

Under the guise of political ambition, former Governor Oparanya has strategically aligned himself with contenders who seek to undermine Governor Barasa's administration. He is now rallying behind opposition candidates and funding divisive tactics in the southern region of Kakamega. Oparanya's agenda appears clear: to secure his own political future at the expense of unity and stability within southern Kakamega.

First, attempts were made through proxies like Elsie Muhanda, who failed terribly to sway the masses. Now, he has turned to Khalwale to challenge Governor Barasa's authority and development, but these efforts have faltered in the face of resilience and determination. Undeterred, Oparanya has now resorted to more aggressive tactics, leveraging financial resources and political connections to sow discord and division among the Abawanga.

By instigating conflicts and fostering dissent in Governor Barasa's stronghold, Oparanya aims to weaken the southern vote block and support base, paving the way for his own ascent to power as a senator. Promising lucrative incentives to political allies and manipulating the loyalty of Wanga local leaders like Oduory and Rashid Echessa, Oparanya's pursuit of a senatorial seat comes at the cost of destabilizing the region and betraying the trust of those who once stood by him.

He has now started funding local politicians to use the mumias sugar card, a factory that was eaten to its death bed when he was a governor.

As tensions rise and allegiances are tested, will the southern vote block succumb to the divisive tactics of political opportunists, or will they unite to reject betrayal and preserve the harmony that has long defined their shared heritage? Our eyes are open, we are poised to determine the course of our collective destiny amidst the looming shadow of political betrayal.
